Dawn Whitmore
With a formal background in fine art photography, I ventured into the world of professional photography and photo editing immediately after graduating from art school. My love of people has led me to places I never imagined - I am forever curious about the wildness of this life. As a photographer and photo editor, I aim to create and sequence images that are visually appealing and emotionally compelling.
My work has appeared in: The Guardian, The Washington Post, the Virginia Quarterly Review, of Note Magazine, The Iowa Review, Lyon Capitale, and Telegraph Magazine UK.
Photo editing clients include: The Nature Conservancy, National Geographic Kids Books, National Geographic Society, the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), ARTnews Magazine, Barnes & Noble Publishing, and Washingtonian Magazine. I have been a yearly juror for the International Photography Awards (IPA) since 2014.
The name Chime Photo is inspired by the idea of two metals colliding and creating a beautiful sound - much like the photographer and subject when capturing a successful photo.
